Cover Reveal Once Upon Another Time

Today we’re revealing the cover for ONCE UPON ANOTHER TIME, illustrated in bright, bold colors and soft edges by Andrés F. Landazábal. It immediately takes me back to another time in picture books! The tale, co-written by Charles Ghigna (a.k.a. Father Goose) and Matt Forrest Esenwine, came to be via a blog post and a subsequent comment. Let’s have the authors share the story behind the story… CHARLES: The genesis for this book began when I posted the first 9 pages of the manuscript on my Father Goose blog, along with a summary of the entire picture book.  Here’s a link to my original blog post.  Matt responded with 4 stanzas and some great ideas for the narrative.  I was surprised how compatible our styles were and how easily our ideas fit together.  I began submitting the finished manuscript about the same time Matt did. I submitted it to Beaming Books via Submittable  and he submitted it via #PBPitch, a Twitter event that connects picture book authors with editors and agents.  And it worked! Beaming Books picked it up!  Matt and I were thrilled with our editor’s choice of illustrator,  Andrés F. Landazábal, whose colorful style perfectly captures the lyricism of the text. MATT: Bouncing manuscripts back and forth was actually very educational for both of us, seeing what each other thought of the other’s writing, as well as discovering new perspectives and ways of describing things. And by the way, tenacity was the name of the game with this book: the manuscript went through nearly 15 revisions and more than 25 different publishing houses before our editor at Beaming Books told us she loved it and wanted to buy it! Even with Father Goose’s name attached to the project, it took an awful lot of persistence and positive energy to get our book to this point! I’m not only thrilled about the illustrations, I’m also thrilled that I got to write a book with my friend, Father Goose himself, the inimitable Charles Ghigna! Seeing our names together on the cover is a real treat. The illustrations are a real treat, too! Thanks, Charles, Matt and Andrés! ONCE UPON ANOTHER TIME will be released by Beaming Books on August 18, 2020. Charles Ghigna â€" Father Goose ® lives in a tree house in the middle of Alabama. Secret to 2012 Success Commitment - Pathfinder Careers

Mystery to 2012 Success Commitment - Pathfinder Careers Mystery to 2012 Success: Commitment On the off chance that you arent effectively bought in to thought master Seth Godins blog, I would energetically suggest you do as such. His short, forthright, and provocative posts are passing day-plugs since they make you delay and think. I can't envision what is happening in his psyche at some random second with such huge numbers of pearls of insight gliding around in there! Yet, one ongoing post hit home especially hard a day or two ago it was tied in with arranging as opposed to submitting. On an individual note, I had been wanting to compose a book on profession methodologies for an entire year. Truth be told, I had intended to spend the whole month of December 2010 chipping away at it, however rather continued including customer arrangements which demonstrated extraordinary for business yet implied zero book fulfillment. That is, until I made the promise to really do it this past December 2011. What's more, prepare to have your mind blown. I totally got it going. Notice that single word responsibility? Its everything about the finish, not the purpose. Without a doubt, this procedure was unnerving. An entire month without pay? I never figured I could do it yet when I focused on the procedure and set aside assets to compensate for the budgetary opening, my responsibility made the open door conceivable. Is it accurate to say that i was frozen that customers may leave me since I was inaccessible? You betcha. Yet, numerous imminent clients were eager to hold up until I began taking customers again the primary seven day stretch of January. What's more, guess what? A result of being inaccessible made repressed interest. In the event that this week is any sign, this year will be a rankling horse shelter burner. In any case, what I am getting at is that Godins post about submitting is a significant outlook that we can apply to our own professions and how we oversee them: We plan a ton of things we intend to refresh our list of references every scarcely any months so we are prepared for new chances or can without much of a stretch react to impromptu occupation advances however a large portion of us dont. We likewise plan to take that class weve been expecting to take.. be that as it may, dont in light of the fact that we are too occupied to even consider finding the time. We intend to go to that systems administration occasion we realize we ought to go to however we dont on the grounds that something different came up or we just dont feel like it. My inquiry is to you: What sorts of chances would you say you are passing up a great opportunity by just arranging and not submitting? Odds are on the off chance that you begin submitting, achievement will discover you versus you attempting to look for it.

The Reason Why Your Cover Letter Has To Change

The Reason Why Your Cover Letter Has To Change Your introductory letter should change each time you present your resume to another position. This is on the grounds that your introductory letter is a prologue to you, the principal thing the peruser of that resume sees, and a conventional structure letter won't give a decent impression. It might even reason them to ignore the resume since they didn't see you put any exertion into the introductory letter. Consider it like this: what might you consider somebody who acquainted themselves with you utilizing a similar content they utilized on every other person? A few things merit rehashing, similar to your name, however different things may not make a difference, and if that new associate appears to be more into running through their achievements than beginning a discussion about common interests, at that point you may grin amiably and proceed onward as fast as could reasonably be expected. Similarly, when you need a presentation, it ought to be customized to the setting. Your introductory letter can be changed in the event that you have put resources into one that has been expertly composed, however it ought to consistently mirror the activity you are applying for and the organization who is trying to fill the position. In the event that you can have the name of the individual perusing the resumes, far better! This the truth is one explanation an introductory letter is offered in our A La Carte Services. You dont fundamentally need to revamp your resume for each application, yet it truly is a smart thought to put as much individualization into your introductory letter as is suitable. Much the same as a well disposed acquaintance that makes you need with talk, a decent introductory letter makes them need to peruse your resume and acquire you for a meeting.

Only an idea. 2) Maybe you don't need to pick only a certain something: On the off chance that you are the kind of individual portrayed above (think assortment, plausibility, alternatives, change, beginning however not-completing… ) then picking only one profession is terrifying. Furthermore, in light of current circumstances! I'm expressly hyperventilating at the idea of only one thing for a mind-blowing remainder. Alright, full breath. Individuals who are effective and fulfilled in their professions have picked a way that benefits as much as possible from their regular abilities and method of seeing the world. On the off chance that your common abilities and 'method of being' is in majority, assortment, change, at that point ensure you make a domain for yourself where these become the overwhelming focus, sparkle, and are a favorable position for you. Also, that may mean making your own bespoke portfolio vocation. A Portfolio Career implies doing a few paid exercises simultaneously. It may include working low maintenance in an office, and mentoring kids in the evenings. It could join corporate counseling, with a cupcake heating business, independent composition, and running guided strolls. Or on the other hand, as you might be speculating, anything you desire. This style of profession offers you the chance to try different things with a few sorts of work simultaneously, and you can keep 'altering' your portfolio to get the blend that is directly for you. Significantly, a Portfolio profession ought not be viewed as being in a 'brief delay', doing a few not exactly appealing employments until you locate your one genuine way. A decent Portfolio is your actual way â€" and you assume liability for filling it with things that are directly for you. Possibly take this course in the event that you are certainly the kind of individual depicted previously. What's the trick? Straightforward. Nobody will 'give' you a portfolio vocation â€" you must be imaginative to make one for yourself. Take a gander at your aptitudes and capacities. What have you been paid to do before? What abilities do you have that you figure you could be paid for? Would you be able to detect any developing pattern that you figure you could take advantage of? Attempt a portion of these out. Take a gander at different structures for your portfolio â€" would you like to be completely autonomous (independent, working for yourself), or do you need a blend of customary low maintenance work? 3) Decide on your genuine models: Regardless of whether you need a solitary profession or a portfolio, you need some method of choosing what to do. The key to this is beginning toward the start. Disregard thoughts regarding settling on what you may like dependent on your 'interests' and 'things I am acceptable at'. We should return to the beginning. 'Who am I?' 'What is generally critical to me?' 'What do I should be glad?' These essential inquiries are shockingly hard to respond in due order regarding numerous individuals. A ton of my customers come to me subsequent to going through years hurling around 'vocation alternatives' in their mind. So we step back, and invest a lot of energy figuring everything out before addressing professions. At the point when you make sure about what you truly need and what is extremely imperative to you, settling on your decisions frequently turns out to be a lot simpler â€" you have an agenda you can use to dispose of a portion of your choices on an authentic 'me-level'. How to Research Your Personal Brand - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

How to Research Your Personal Brand - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career You’ve recently heard that, if you want to impress employers, you need a strong personal brand. Although you have an idea of what personal branding is, you have no idea how to identify your brand or how to build one. When it comes to building a strong personal brand, your first step is to figure out who you are as an individual, as well as a professional. Although this might take a little soul searching and reflection, it’s one of the most important steps of building a strong personal brand. As you begin thinking about your personal brand, it’s a good idea to do some research. This research consists of finding things that inspire who you are as an individual and finding out what others think of you when they hear your name. To identify what you want to display in your personal brand, here are four ways to research your personal brand: 1. Find words that describe your brand. A great start to finding inspiration for your personal brand is to make a list of words that describe who you are as a person. Think of words that describe your personality, values, and worth ethic. As your list begins to grow, start narrowing it down into the words you want to be recognized by. For example, you determine that you are a creative, ambitious, and trustworthy individual. These are words you can use in your brand when building your portfolio, writing your LinkedIn summary, and participating in conversations on social media. 2. Ask your friends, family, and mentors to describe your brand. Another great way to research your personal brand is by asking what others think of you when they hear your name. For example, ask one of your close friends to describe you in three words. Next, ask a relative to describe you in three words. As you continue to ask more people about how they think of you, use these adjectives as a source of inspiration for your brand. 3. Create a list of what you like and don’t like about your brand. If you discover that there are some things you want to change about how people perceive your brand, make a list of what you like and don’t like about your reputation. Once you create your list, learn how you can emphasize your positive qualities and improve your negative qualities. For example, if you discover that you are too much of a perfectionist and it’s keeping you from being successful, find ways in your life where you can become more flexible and easygoing. 4. Do research on what people say about your brand online. If you’re actively participating on social media or have a blog, pay close attention to what people say about your brand online. Do you receive endorsements on LinkedIn? Are people commenting on your blog posts? These are all bits of feedback you can use to shape your personal brand. Researching your personal brand is an important step in building a strong reputation for yourself. As you continue to learn more about your qualities and how people perceive your personality and talents, use these strengths to create a unique personal brand. Have you done research on your personal brand? What did you discover yourself during the process?
